Assembly Room Supervisor

Position Summary

The Assembly Room Supervisor oversees assembly operations to ensure a smooth, efficient manufacturing process. This role is responsible for monitoring employees, organizing workflows, and maintaining productivity and quality standards. The supervisor directly manages assembly personnel, addresses workplace issues, and supports daily operations to ensure products are delivered accurately and on time.


Key Responsibilities

Production & Workflow Management

  • Design, set up, and optimize small assembly build areas
  • Balance assembly lines to maintain efficient production flow and minimize bottlenecks
  • Monitor production processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency
  • Coordinate materials to ensure availability of components for assembly
  • Establish daily production targets and manage staffing to meet goals

Assembly Operations

  • Read and interpret instructions and technical requirements
  • Select and modify components according to specifications
  • Align and assemble parts to build finished products
  • Utilize hand tools including screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, and similar equipment

Quality Control

  • Inspect finished assemblies to verify proper alignment and accuracy
  • Identify and report defective components
  • Maintain equipment and ensure adherence to quality standards

Team Leadership & Management

  • Supervise and support assembly personnel
  • Address employee questions, concerns, and performance issues
  • Manage attendance, timecards, and scheduling
  • Foster a collaborative, professional work environment
  • Participate in management meetings and communicate updates

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain production records and track key performance metrics
  • Report production issues, equipment malfunctions, and workflow concerns

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Train employees on proper equipment use and safety procedures
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and compliance efforts

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing or production experience with increasing responsibility
  • Experience supervising or leading teams in a production environment
  • Experience managing assembly line operations and workflow optimization

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree preferred

Technical Skills

  • Experience with hand tools and small assembly work
  • Familiarity with production systems, inventory, or reporting tools
  • Basic computer skills (reporting, documentation, data tracking)
